A Year in Review

Oh what an amazing year it’s been…

This time last year I was in a completely different place than I am now, and I couldn’t be more excited about the changes that have stumbled upon me. 2015 has held some of my most memorable eye opening experiences, both good and bad. From finishing another semester, to a new apartment and a new job, to loosing friends and gaining new ones, to traveling the world, and taking the next step in life, i’ve experienced so much this year that has made me grow as a person, an individual.

Let’s take a look at some of my most memorable moments this past year…

Getting my meditation on in Bangkok, Thailand

This was my introduction picture to the world of blogging. I had just taken a spiritual trip with my wonderful boyfriend to Thailand and Cambodia and I wanted so badly to share my stories of traveling with others so I started this here little blog, makemeajetsetter.com .

Bangkok turned out to be one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s absolutely massive, rich with unique culture, and has some of the best street food I’ve had during my travels in Asia.  During our stay in Thailand we also got to care for and ride elephants in Chiang Mai, drink with the locals in Phuket, ferry over to Koh Phi Phi, and then back to Bangkok. The photo directly above is from our stay at Hotel Icon in Sukhumvit area. It had an amazing rooftop pool and I had told the hotel that it was our “anniversary”  so they hooked us up with  cocktails upon arrival, a rooftop suite, and even airport transportation. It was a great ending to the Thailand leg of our trip.

When entering Cambodia I was unsure of what to expect. Compared to Thailand, it’s such less touristy and had, in recent years, undergone a horrible genocide that wiped-out nearly two million innocent Cambodians and other civilians. It was a horrific time for that country and the effects could still be seen when we visited, but we saw a lot more than a strong culture breaking through hardship, we saw temples built centuries past and even got invited to a traditional Cambodian home for a once in a lifetime lunch with a local family.

After experiencing Thailand, Cambodia, and a taste of South Korea we decided to take a more relaxed vacation…

During summer of 2015 my boyfriend and I took a 10 day trip to Acapulco, Mexico. It was absolutely beautiful and we did nothing but lounge around the hotel, drinking Mexican beers and eating fajitas. It was one of the most relaxing vacations have I’ve ever taken. We even got to play with a monkey named Nico and watch the divers at La Quebrada.

After our trips out of the country we decided to take a local trip and visit Outside Lands Music Festival in San Fransisco. What a trip that was.

Now that the year is over it’s enjoyable to sit and look back at the fun times and amazing experiences that I’ve had this past year. I’m just that much closer to where I want to be in life and I’ve worked so hard this past year and it’s finally starting to pay off. I buzzing with excitement to see what 2016 will have in store for me.

Cheers to 2016 friends!
